The hip is a ball-and-socket joint that allows the upper leg to move front to back and side to side. It’s one of the body’s largest weight-bearing joints and is surrounded by strong ligaments and muscle.
The knee connects the upper leg bone to the lower leg bone. The ends of both bones are covered by cartilage and the knee cap. When these surfaces are smooth, the knee joint glides easily and without pain.
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the human body. It’s made up of three separate joints that work together and allow for a wide range of motion.
The spinal column is the body's main support structure. It’s divided into five areas and has 33 bones, called vertebrae.
