What is a Community Center?
A Community Center at Optum is a welcoming space designed for adults age 55 and older to stay active, healthy and socially connected. We offer the following programs, classes and resources to support your physical, mental and emotional well-being:
- Fitness classes: Get your heart pumping with fun cardio, balance or strength workouts for every level. Additionally, some of our sites have safe, air-powered fitness equipment to meet the needs of today’s active seniors.
- Activity and hobby-based classes: Make new friends and catch up with the ones you already know while you participate in art, crafting, and educational classes to enrich your life.
- Mindfulness and self-help classes: Learn skills to lower stress, improve mental health and make healthy habits.
- Language classes and book clubs: Keep your mind sharp or find your new favorite author or book.
- Educational classes: Learn about stroke prevention, cooking made easy, Medicare education, living with diabetes, and other programs designed to support a healthier you.
- Shared living room space to help you make connections: It’s a great place to hang out with friends, grab some coffee or relax between classes.
